Us As a Movie Blogging Community

Hey guys,  Movie Maniac here, since I created my movie blog, Film Frantic, I haven't posted because I wanted my first post to be something memorable. Now I figured out that I want to address the problem that is plaguing the movie blogging community, and the problem is that we believe too much that we hear and slowly stopped taking rumors with a grain of salt. Examples of this is the latest two rumors of Christian Bale getting offered $50 million dollars to return as Batman and Hugh Jackman getting offered $100 million dollars to continuously play Wolverine for four more films. As a movie blogging community, hell as movie fans, we should one always find the source to movie rumors. ALWAYS LOOK FOR THE SOURCE. The thing that makes me the most angry is that other movie sites run these rumors as facts and literally their professional integrity slowly deteriorates.

Now let's break down these rumors starting with the Christian Bale situation. Now if you look into where this rumor came from, it was from an unnamed "source." Whenever you hear unnamed "source," you should immediately either take the rumor with a grain of salt or research into it. Do no just automatically believe it, it makes us as fans seem gullible. Then what you should think after reading a rumor such as this one is bring facts into it to help you determine if it's true. Think about it, if Warner Bros did offer Christian Bale $50 million, why would Christian Bale accept it, did he not say he was done playing a superhero? Of course some of you would say "$50 million dollars would change his mind"; however, it wouldn't because any other movie studio can offer him the same amount to be in their movie, so why would Christian Bale come back to play a character he said he's done playing for that price when he can do a different character for the same amount? So let me restate what's been stated so many times before, Christian Bale is done playing Batman, Christopher Nolan's Batman character will not appear in the next Man of Steel film or in any other film involving Batman, and whose to say they aren't talking to Christian Bale about it, I can't deny if they are talking under the radar, but as far as I know Warner Bros. has not come out and stated that they have offered Bale $50 million to play Batman again.

Time to break down the Hugh Jackman being offered $100 million dollars to play Wolverine for four more films. So many websites ran with this and promoted as fact. I don't know how many times do I have to say do not trust unnamed "sources," especially ones who gave this "scoop" to the National Enquirer, and take rumors with a grain of salt. Take into consideration, Hugh Jackman is a top notch actor, there's no disputing he's worth the money, but, why would Fox offer the amount of money that it takes to create a full movie to one actor. It just doesn't seem right. Plus if I'm not mistaken, I believe Fox plans on rebooting the Xmen franchise anyway after Xmen: Days of Future Past. So why would they offer Hugh Jackman to continue to play Wolverine if they are rebooting the franchise? Usually when a studio reboots a franchise, they usually get new actors to play the characters of that franchise. Now maybe they are talking to Hugh Jackman to continuously play Wolverine under the radar, but as far as I know, the studio did not come out and confirm nor state that they have offer Hugh Jackman $100 million to play Wolverine in four more films.

So to conclude this post, I want to say that us as a movie blog community needs to really start showing more professional integrity with the stuff we post. Trying to get that big scoop doesn't have to mean give up your integrity. Once we realize this, our community will gain more respect, or at least gain the respect that we lost back.

Until Next Time, I'm the Movie Maniac, and I'm Frantic about Films :D
